Sacramentality is at the heart of the Catholic Church. 

Lent is a 40-day season that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. During this season, Catholics are invited to delve deeper into the mystery of Jesus' suffering, death, and resurrection at Easter. 

Lent provides Catholics with an opportunity to reflect on where they have failed to love God, their neighbour, and themselves, as well as to seek ways to repair what has been broken. Along with this reflection on their lives, Catholics commit to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
