
Fair Winds and following Seas, Sir
News has been received of the death of RADM Anthony Hunt AO, who passed away on 5 March 2025. He will be farewelled at a Mass of Christian Burial at the Garden island Naval Chapel, Kuttabul on Monday 17 March at 1.00pm.
Anthony hunt was born in Melbourne on 14 July 1938. He joined the Royal Australian Naval College in 1954 serving in RAN for over 40 years, with service both in the RAN and RN. Posted to a number of Naval Aviation positions both at HMAS Nowra and in HMAS Melbourne on several occasions. He held has several senior naval positions, promoted to Real Admiral in 1989. He served as Assistant Chief of Naval Staff - Materiel, and subsequently, Flag Officer Naval Support command. He was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia in June 1991.
We remember in prayer the repose of his Anthony’s soul. Thanking God for his devotion to his Christian faith, for his outstanding service and commitment to the RAN, as a man of honour to his Service and country.
We remember his beloved wife of 58 years, Cecile, his children, Jeffrey, Matthew, Timothy and Jennifer, their families, and particularly his grandchildren at this time.
May he rest in peace. A life of service well spent.
