National ANZAC Day Mass

One of the most important national events in Australia and New Zealand is Anzac Day, which is celebrated every year on April 25. It is the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landing at Gallipoli during World War I in 1915.

This memorial of 2026 takes on greater significance this year given the war in the Middle East and continuing conflicts in Ukraine and Africa. 

Our ANZACS sacrificed their lives and served selflessly in the hope of ending all violence and death, serving to establish a lasting peace. This ANZAC Day we pray to the God of Peace in and through ANZAC memory and example.

  • Receiving the Colours
  • Mass for the Fallen: a musical setting commissioned for ANZAC Day celebrations.
  • Liturgy of the Word: Includes readings
  • Prayers of the Faithful: Focused on peace, justice, and the souls of those who died in service.
  • Return the Colours

  • The Ode & Last Post: It is common for the "Ode of Remembrance" to be recited, followed by the "Last Post", a minute of silence
