Chaplains' Stories - Fr. Bob Rugers - "Rugers Remembered"
On Wednesday August 4, about 50 family and friends gathered at the Chaplain's
Centre Williamtown when the Catholic Bishop to the Armed Forces, Bishop Geoffrey
Mayne, blessed a plaque in memory of Chaplain Robert Rugers.
SQNLDR Rugers was Chaplain at Williamtown at the time of his death in 1990.
Bishop Mayne spoke of Chaplain Ruger's time at RAAF Richmond, Darwin, Butterworth, Amberley and Williamtown.
In addition to family and friends, official guests included OC of RAAF Williamtown, GPCAPT Loch Mitchell, CHAP GPCAPT Peter O'Keefe from Air Command and Bishop Michael Malone of Maitland- Newcastle Diocese.
