The parish community experienced a moment of profound grace on Saturday, August 22nd, as Deacon Ray El Fakhry took his sacred step into holy orders. The ordination ceremony at Our Lady of Lebanon marked the culmination of years of intense prayer, study, and dedication.
Parishioners, friends, and family answered the warm invitation to fill the pews, surrounding Father Ray with a powerful wall of communal prayer and celebration as he begins his new spiritual journey.
In addition to his service to the parish, Father Ray's ministry carries a unique and vital mission. He is currently finishing his specialized training as an in-service candidate with the Catholic Military Ordinariate of Australia (CMOA).
This critical preparation paves the way for his future entry into the Australian Defence Force, where he will serve as a military chaplain. Showing the deep camaraderie of this calling, several fellow Chaplains of the CMOA stood alongside Father Ray on his ordination day, offering their collective support and welcoming him into their ranks.
We extend our congratulations to Father Ray Nohra El Fakhry and look forward to seeing the fruits of his ministry both in our community and across the nation's Defence Force.
