General Invitation

WYD 2023 Invitation

Dear friends,

It is with great excitement that we announce Archbishop Prowse will be leading a pilgrimage to the 16th International World Youth Day which is to be hosted by Pope Francis in the great European city of Lisbon, Portugal next August. Our pilgrimage departs Australia for the heart of Spain where we will journey through ancient Renaissance cities to connect with the lives and stories of well-known Saints including Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross. We then make our way to Fatima which has become a significant place for Marian prayer and devotion. Our pilgrimage then culminates with the WYD Week of celebration in Lisbon together with the Pope and the youth of the world. Following the WYD Week, we depart for our post-WYD Retreat in Dubai where we will have some days to rest and reflect alongside our hosts, the Jesus Youth community, prior to our return to Australia.

This pilgrimage is aimed at post-school young adults who will be between the ages of 18-35 at time of travel. Young adults who work as part of our Catholic
schools, healthcare providers, and social welfare agencies are especially invited to consider joining the Archbishop for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Due to a number of challenges and pressures currently being experienced by the global travel industry, our itinerary and costings are still being finalised by our Tour OWYD23 QR Codeperator, but we hope to release this information very soon.

If you would like to stay updated with the latest information about the pilgrimage to World Youth Day, please provide us with your details using our expression of interest form which you can access using this QR Code (or click the QR code to go directly to the form):

Please note that completing this expression of interest does not commit you to the pilgrimage, nor does it automatically confirm you as a pilgrim. There will be a separate application process with detailed timelines that will be released shortly along with our finalised itinerary and indicative costs.
